Who regulates BASI Members' Insurance?

BASI Travel Insurance is a trading style of Dogtag Ltd. Dogtag Ltd is an Appointed Representative of ITC Compliance Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Service Authority. Dogtag Ltd's FSA Firm Reference Number is 519661.

Whose products do we offer?

We only offer insurance from a single provider and this is provided by Travel Insurance Facilities Plc who are regulated and authorised by the Financial Services Authority. The insurance is underwritten by Travel Insurance Facilities Plc, insured by Union Reiseversicherung and is administered in the UK by Travel Administration Facilities.

What services will we provide you with?

You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

Will you have to pay a fee for our services?

You will not have to pay a fee for our services, you will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy.

Who owns Dogtag?

Dogtag is an independently owned Limited Company whose registered company number is 03886668. Our registered address is 2ND FLOOR, 167-169 GREAT PORTLAND STREET, LONDON W1W 5PF.

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our financial obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Your claim is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim without any upper limit.

Administration

Please DO NOT contact BASI Head Office with questions or sales enquiries. The BASI staff will not be able to help you.

Travel Insurance is a highly regulated industry with many safeguards in place to protect you the customer. For this reason enquiries can only be handled by an FSA Authorised contact centre. Your calls and emails will be handled directly by Travel Administration Facilities. This makes sense as Travel Administration Facilities are responsible for everything from construction of the policy, sales enquiries, claims handling and medical emergencies. Although bought individually, the policy was negotiated on a group basis and it is therefore not possible to make changes for individual circumstances.
